I don't understand why MSN is still around. It has been the most useless of all the orgs in MS. That org has the most incompetent people - I have heard people interview with MSN (and get hired) because they couldn't find jobs elsewhere. Look at the new live hotmail - it is such a piece of junk - wonder which moron came up with that design.
(Eh, I was fairly happy with this until I hit the moron bit and did not want to flip this over into the main comment stream. I guess I am just picky right now.)

A bit overblown but not completely off the mark. The MSN and Windows Live orgs have some great people that stack up favorably with people across the company. The bar in these orgs however is lower than it should be as it is fairly easy to get through the interview process. This doesn't mean that the orgs are not capable of building great products, it just means that the stars have to carry a greater load. Things are changing though, more and more star caliber people are giving MSN / Live a try and the uptick in overall talent is noticeable.
