Well if today's all-up call was any indication, things won't be changing at Microsoft anytime soon. Watching Ballmer duck questions really left me with a bad taste in my mouth. He had no answers for Apple's continued consumer dominance and was less than forthcoming on many of the limitations of our online service offerings. The reason the field is pushing back on BPOS is because the solution isn't ready for all but the most generic customers (e.g. their requirements). Regardless of the poor economy, I have decided to start looking for an exit from Microsoft after watching the company stagnate over that last 10 years. And don't even get me started on the stock price.

There are layoffs tomorrow. The question is will it be part of the original 5,000 or deeper? I have confirmation from some L66s. Sales, Marketing, and Partner teams will be hit.
Check your managers' schedules tomorrow and note the number of private appointments. Chances are most of your groups will also have an All Hands meeting on Wednesday.
